• First of all, let’s introduce you to all our visitors here at EGC Games. Who’s behind Angels Online (AO)?

Well, the second most important question is of course what is Angels Online? Can you give us a few words about the main features and choices for the new player?

Angels Online is a cute anime styled MMORPG following in the large footsteps of Tales of Pirates, also operated by IGG. Players begin in the Angel Lyceum and one of four featured countries will be players’ fairylands. 14 classes and unique double classes let players make their own unique characters. Besides, players can devote themselves to one of the four factions: Aurora, Steel, Shadow and Beast.

• What’s the greatest difference, in your opinion, between AO and the most well known and played MMORPGs? Why should a player choose AO instead?

Angels Online is a cute anime styled game that will attract players who are younger and appreciate the light-hearted approach to gaming that AO represents.

• AO’s graphic style is pretty cute and relaxing. However, it seems somehow difficult to attract fans of MMORPGs. What was the main reason for you to choose such a visual approach? Is your target group mainly women and children or do you expect to also gain a proportion of the more fanatic players: boys and men?

Nowadays, games are inclined to force and eroticism. However, most of the players are teenagers. Because of AO’s cute cartoon style, we believe that younger players and of course girls will be instantly attracted to this game.

• Tell us some words about character development and the combat system.

The double class system is one feature of Angels Online. Players are able to change or match skills after having chosen a class, which will determine their exclusive character. The combat system falls into two parts: Fighting against monsters and Totem Battle-PVP system.  Fighting against monsters can improve a character’s skill and obtain Exp and items. The Totem Battle, which is mainly about totem defense among guilds is a brand-new PVP experience.  The cooperation of different classes is needed there to survive.

• There’s also a clever pet element inside the game. What about that? How can a pet be developed and how can a player get their robot pet?

The Pet system is another unique feature of Angels Online. The player’s attitude to the pet will affect the development of the pet. Thus, the same pet egg can become a much different pet after training with different players. A common pet egg can be purchased from an NPC, while a rare one can only be obtained by defeating exclusive Bosses. A Robot is the players ride for the production system. It helps players to gather, mine and so on.

• What would you say the main purpose of the game is? Combat, activities, exploring, chatting and finding friends, or having some relaxing and joyful time playing or even all the above?

The Totem Battles among guilds and factions are the main point of Angels Online. Once a guild has battled and won the faction totem, all of the resources there will also become theirs. Meanwhile, an effective guild system and interaction system helps players get to know more friends. Also, we have a system chat system within the game for players to talk freely with each other at no extra cost.

• Well, time to talk about the item mall. Why did you decide to put such an activity in the game? For financial reasons or to intrigue the players into a more realistic feeling about the game?

The Item Mall is where players can buy extra items not normally available in the game. However it plays an minor role in the game. Compared to games that have a monthly fee, AO is a kind of free MMORPG, providing a fair game environment for all. Players do not need to make extensive purchases in the Item Mall to be a top player, as they can also obtain top gear and items by defeating strong Bosses.

• The game’s server has been online since November, at least for Europe and North America. How have the players’ responses been until now? Do you feel that you’ve won your bet?

Since its closed beta was released, AO has been well received from massive players for its stable server and rich game content. Although our users are almost all young girls because of the games genre, as an interactive online game, the player groups have been extended now and more and more players have joined.

• I’m playing the game (I’m still in the Lyceum though) and so far everything seems to work great. My only objection is the skill system. It gets a little grueling to continuously change your skill via the Skill Angel in order to complete some quests. What are your thoughts about this? I’m certain it was made for a reason…

First, welcome to AO! The players of the combat system and production system play different roles in the game. The former are good at fighting, while the latter are good at gathering and producing, so they seem weak when facing monsters. However, players of the production system are important in the upcoming Totem Battle, because they can build fortifications and upgrade the totem. In all, players of the combat system and production system will experience different quests and play different roles in the game.

• How would you describe AO in less than ten words?

Cartoon and dazzle. A fight between good and evil

• Tell us the game’s most important asset in your opinion…

As stated before, the Totem Battle is the most important element in AO. After graduating from the Angel Lyceum, players can choose their own faction. The Totem Battle is about totem defense among guilds and factions. It’s an entire PVP event, which can greatly encourage players to fight for their guild. After occupying the totem, the guild can obtain rich rewards from it.

• What are your future plans about Angels Online? An expansion perhaps?
  
We will release Totem Battle later this month. In the next two months, a new expansion “Eden” will be launched. Two new FB maps, stronger Bosses and more advanced gear will be available.
