During the ensuing chaos now known as the "Three-Year War", Granado Espada was abandoned. To alleviate social problems and address the resource strain on their homeland, the Queen of Vespanola issued the “Reconquista Policy”, urging adventurous Vespanolan families to migrate to the new world and retake the land for Queen and Country.
