Question #1 For those of us who have not heard of RappelZ, could you explain briefly what future gamers might experience? 1) Rappelz is a fantasy-based MMORPG that uses an intricate player - pet combo system. As you begin your adventure, you will need to choose one of three races; the Deva, Gaia, and Asura, which represent the forces of Creation, Earth, and Destruction, respectively. The major features of Rappelz are the in-depth Pet System, player-ownable dungeons, beautiful graphics, a captivating orchestral soundtrack, and appealing character models. Question #2 Most online gamers complain about certain games becoming very repetitive, such as grinding. What kinds of features have been implemented in RappelZ, which might make things more enjoyable and not so repetitive for players? 2) Rappelz’s dungeon system encourages players to create powerful guilds and alliances with the common goal of conquering and owning a dungeon. However, the challenge doesn’t stop once you own it. You must then defend your dungeon from weekly attacks by other guilds. This creates continuous goals for the guilds that own them and long term objectives for guilds that never have. Question #3 In 2003 many large gaming industries announced that in game gold farmers or gold sellers where destroying the in game economy. What measures have been undertaken in RappelZ to prevent such operations from occurring? 3) At the end of 2007, when gold farmers were doing their most damage, we as a company instituted several countermeasures that have proven to be very effective. These included everything from modifications to the chat system for lower levels, to organizing in-game stings in order to catch and ban these gold farmers. In addition, we have sent clear warnings to our players that purchasing in-game currency and items from gold farming websites will get you banned and that has made a dramatic impact. Question #4 Compared to other MMO dungeon systems, what makes RappelZ dungeon system exclusive? 4) The dungeon ownership system in Rappelz is unique because player guilds have the opportunity to potentially own them. They must time attack the dungeon along with any other guilds that want to take control and the guild with the fastest time gets to participate in a siege over the weekend against the current owner of the guild. The guild that owns the dungeon is able to collect a certain percentage of taxes from all players who choose to fight in the dungeon. Question #5 While playing RappelZ we found that the game play features within the game were quite outstanding. What factors need to be considered to make an online game, like RappelZ, so “real”? 5) What makes Rappelz so “real” is the environment, soundtrack, and character models. These combine together create a very unique and engrossing experience for the user. Also, the Rappelz community is very supportive; the sense of friendship and camaraderie among guildmates and players both new and old is very real. Question #6 As a beginner what kind of advice would you give when first entering the online world of RappelZ? 6) First I would ask the user what style of combat they prefer to use. For example, if they like to use magic or use melee attacks, as there are many styles of combat. In addition, all classes have the ability to own and use pets as allies. Besides choosing the right class for you, one crucial gameplay element is a mount. This will help players level and travel much faster than on foot. Question #7 The detail put into the skills performed by characters really amazed us, why exactly do you see this as being important to a gamer? 7) In order to create so many types of classes, you must be able to distinguish them and show that they are unique. We definitely thought players would enjoy the variety of skills and appreciate the depth of the game. Question #8 We understand that RappelZ currently contains 3 classes, could we expect to see any new classes being added in the future? If so, what kind of abilities would they encompass? 8) Players currently have the option of choosing from three different races. For each of the races you can choose several different job classes which will steer your character into more specialized and advanced forms. Currently we are working with the idea of adding additional job classes, but no new races are in the works. Question #9 We understand that the English version of RappelZ is currently at Epic4. What kind of features could players observe when Epic5 is finally released? 9) When Epic 5 launches, players will be able to obtain new Rank 6 equipment, acquire several new rare pets such as the White Dragon and Cerberus, and explore new dungeons for high-level players.
