But don't take our word for it – try it for yourself...
Top Content! The May edition is jam-packed with bags of top content to flick through – starting with a special preview feature of Dragonica, an up-coming side-scrolling MMORPG that is winning all sorts of plaudits in the Thirteen1 office.
Over the course of the month the T1 guys have managed to get lost and lonely in the dark with Chronicles of Riddick, bossed an entire city in The Godfather II, made a return to Taborea to catch up with Runes of Magic, shown that they just don't care in their underwear with Naked War, and burnt a bunch of bad-ass ballerina zombies in Burn Zombie, Burn.
Though Thirteen1 is always looking to the future, last month's anniversary recap must have appealed to the retro corner of their brains - because this issue is rammed with old-school goodness!
There's the start of a brand new section where they take a look back on classics like Earthworm Jim and Abe's Odyssey. They dice with smiley-death in HeatBeam's retro-hearted Emotigeddon, go deep into the world of Geneforge 5 AND save the human race with Gravity Core.
Beta Key Giveaway!
Between the furious gameplay sessions, the T1
team caught up with the guys behind Omerta
- the Mafia MMORPG – to get both a sneaky peak at their brand new version
3.0 release and a bunch of exclusive beta-key invites so you can
play it! Flip to page 5 of the mag now to get your hands
on one!
Free Comps and Giveaways!

Thirteen1 - Press Release, Hull, Monday 16th March 2009 Auction System Reworked and Relaunched! Bidding starts for April 13th issue! The Thirteen1 'auction for ads' service has been reworked and re-opened for another round of bidding! The format has changed from last month's individual ad-spots to a new table of available advertisement spaces, meaning you don't just bid for one spot anymore! How does it work? In order to enter the monthly spamfight you have to register, which you do by going here and providing a few details – http://www.thirteen1.com/auction/index.php?module=Register Unlike last month, the available advertisements are now set up in a league table, with the best ad-spot at the top of the table. The highest bid at the end of the month wins the best spot, with the second highest getting the second best spot, and so-on Once you have registered, you can bid on a range of advertising pages in T1, just like it was on eBay. Only, different... Bidding begins at £5 and rises in increments of at least 50p. Meaning if the current top of the table is on £5, a bid of £5.50 will put you in pole position for the best available ad-spot! There's no limit to how many pages you can buy from T1 and the biggest bids for each slot at lunchtime on the 7th of every month wins the ad-space. Simple! That means that you could have the inside cover or the back cover for as little as £5 – or every page for as little as £50! It's not just cash they're interested in though, no no! Thirteen1 wants your stuff too, and they are willing to accept just about anything! If you don't want to part with cash, you can offer literally any old item and it'll be treated just like money. The cooler the stuff, the higher they'll value it! Thirteen1 aren't going to accept dead animals or a collection of your dirty old fingernails (see, it's not quite eBay!), but will happily take consoles, games, DVD's, cars, holidays or a years supply of beer off your hands. If you're not sure about whether to submit an item, just give it a try, you might be surprised! When they accept an item from you, Thirteen1 will assign it a cash value which your account will be debited in credit. You can use this credit just like real cash to bid on ads! Registrations aren't limited to just advertising companies or game owners, so if you have an old kitchen unit you want to sell or if you just want to slag someone in your class/office/prison-wing off with a full colour advertisement (animation permitted) you may do so in T1! Once again, to register just go to - http://www.thirteen1.com/auction/index.php?module=Register |

Thirteen1: The Online Games Magazine - March Issue Available Now! http://www.thirteen1.com/Issues/mag.php ← go here now to skip the below text and dive straight into the latest edition of Thirteen1! With Spring coming thick and fast the T1 team have somehow resisted the better weather and remained inside, locked in a small, windowless room, to bring you the titles you need to be getting your hands on, and those you should avoid at all costs! Let's be honest, they had no chance of seeing any sunlight with Street Fighter IV hitting the shelves, a game so highly anticipated that Paddy The Drunken Gamer has apparently been giving constant “HADOUKEN!”'s around the office since it was announced. He swears he'll get it right one day and manage a 'real-life' Ryu-type blast. We're staying clear... He simply had to review it! So, you can expect a thorough look at Capcom's latest instalment in the SF franchise tucked away in the latest issue! They also managed to kick Covenant ass Halo Wars, Ensemble's RTS take on the mega-popular Halo franchise, get down and dirty in the zombie-ridden trenches of Eidos' ShellShock 2: Blood Trails, and then went back in time a few years to play the exact same scenario again in 505 Game's Necrovision. You can expect a review of potential genre-defining FPS Killzone 2 on the PS3 too. Does it really live up to the hype? There's loads of other delights tucked away in the latest issue, which also marks the start of their brand new regular Breaking Into The Industry feature, which will help you – yes, you! - get a job in gaming with top tips from industry professionals. Free comps and Giveaways too! Thirteen1 has bags of prizes for you to get your hands-on this month! There's 3 copies of SouthPeak's casual firework hit Big Bang Mini up for grabs, along with a Nintendo DS to play it on! The folks over at SteelSeries are giving away some awesome WoW goodies, and Kalypso Media have provided 3 copies of Ceville! Visit Thirteen1 to read the March 13th issue now! -Thirteen1 Team. |

Thirteen1: The Online Games Magazine - Feb Issue Available Now!
http://www.thirteen1.com/mag.php ← go here now to skip the below text and dive straight into the latest edition of Thirteen1! It's that time of the month again, 13th-1pm. The time when the sweat, blood and tears that the Thirteen1 team have put into their work magically manifests itself into a top free-to-read online games magazine! That Christmas stash of games is probably starting to dry up now, so get your head buried straight into the review pages and check out the best offerings to keep you going for another month. It's Friday the 13th – spooky – so Thirteen1 just had to bring you a review of Sega's new House of the Dead for the Wii, released today. They carry on the ghoulish theme with Konami's Silent Hill Homecoming too, and then totally forget about it all to do some kick-flips with Skate 2. The awesome looking Runes of Magic is edging closer to it's official release date, so the T1 guys finally sent the infamous Drunken Gamer into the world of Taborea to see what his MMO mind makes of it all. In-between a sip or 10 of Guinness, of course! They managed to get hands-on with the beta of Plain Sight too, a stupidly cool robot-fighting online game where the aim is simple yet original – kill others, then kill yourself to get the points. Start the bidding warrrr! Thirteen1 have just launched a rather unique, brand new Auction system - where anybody (yes, even you!) can get an advert in the magazine for £5 or just by sending them your old stuff! Might be a good way to tell that special someone just how much you hate them...or advertise that your garden shed is for sale...it's up to you really. Check out the website now to find out more about it! http://www.thirteen1.com/auction Freebies! Freebies! Freebies! If you've already lost interest in all your Christmas presents and need more stuff, there are a few comps in this latest issue to help you out! You could bag Lord of the Rings Online - one of Paddy's recent favourite MMO's, SouthPeak's new game Xblades, a PSP with CID the Dummy goodies, Runes of Magic t-shirts and Plain Sight merchandise too. Well worth checking out! That's about it for another month, time for the team to take a well earned rest. Enjoy the issue! |
