Episode
IV introduces the 9th class to ArchLord and the 3rd class
to the Moon Elf race. With this class the Moon Elf race now has a complete
compliment of classes alongside the Human and Orc races:

Swashbuckler
Founded after a great war with the Orcs and a
difficult conflict with the Vampire Lord, the Swashbuckler came to be the front
line force of the Moon Elves, always there to stand firm against the darkness
that sought to destroy Chantra.
As a close range combatant wielding two swords, the
elegant and agile Swashbuckler is able to inflict great damage on their
enemies, whilst also dodging incoming attacks with ease.
Using a number of unique skills the Swashbuckler is
able to maximise their damage by working in conjunction with other classes, chaining
their skills together magnifying the effect of each skill within the chain.
Acrobatic Charge
After years of training the Swashbuckler has
complete control over every movement they make. Through careful placement of
their feet they are able to quickly cover the distance to an opponent. The
force generated by this movement causes damage to all enemies within the
Swashbuckler's line of movement.
Physical damage to all enemies in a straight line and reduces
opponent’s movement speed for a short period of time
If the Swashbuckler is invisible when they initiate this attack the
damage and duration are increased
Breaking Arms
Utilising
their dual weapon training with a Sword Breaker in their left hand, a
Swashbuckler is able to hit their opponent’s right hand, inflicting damage and
decreasing the opponent’s ability to use their weapon correctly.
Close-range attack
causing physical damage and decreasing opponent’s attack speed
Damage and effect
of Breaking Arms is increased if used on an opponent suffering from the
effect of Acrobatic Charge
Cross Skirmish
A
careful manoeuvre where a Swashbuckler stabs forward at their opponent’s head
using the sword in their right hand, stepping forward with the left foot and
then swiping across the opponent’s stomach with a Sword Breaker in their left
hand.
Close-range attack
causing fire damage and increasing the amount of time required to cast a
skill for the opponent
Damage and effect
of Cross Skirmish is increased if used on an opponent suffering from the
effect of Breaking Arms
Enter the Four City Tournament and compete against your fellow players to win the coveted prizes each day as your combat prowess is put to the test and ranked for all to see.
All players who enter the Battle Square and engage in Player versus Player (PvP) combat will be automatically entered into the tournament and ranked based on their points scored.
Running from Friday 23rd January to Sunday 1st February, the tournament will have thousands of fantastic prizes up for grabs. More information about the tournament can be found on the http://www.codemasters.com/emails/clickme.php?l=10585 ArchLord event forum over at the official site for the game.
The official date for Cyripus to go live and join our existing three servers is Wednesday 5th November.
Champions of Cyripus
November 5th will also see the launch of our levelling contest for all new players on Cyripus. Anyone who creates a character in the first two weeks will automatically be entered into the contest. With thousands of items and credits up for grabs and over 100 winners to be picked, this will be the biggest event held in ArchLord to date. The levelling contest finishes on the 19th November at 09:00 (GMT+1).

This fall we are opening the 4th ArchLord server with its unique Player versus Player (PvP) rule set.
The rule set introduces the chance to loot the items of your enemies when you defeat them in combat, with various different criteria affecting the chance including character status as shown below.

Rogue Level 1 – Medium
Rogue Level 2 – Medium
Rogue Level 3 – High
Champions of Cyripus, with the launch of the new server we will also be holding a special event where all players who create a character on the new server will be automatically entered into the event and given a chance to win various in-game items from the thousands on offer.

ArchLord: Episode 4
With Episode 3: Spirits Awakenings’ successful release the team has moved on to working on Episode 4, the next update for ArchLord due out in 2009. As a small teaser for this next update here are some concept art and screenshots from the NHN development team.
Next week is the planned hot-fix patch that should correct several of the key known issues from Episode 3 as well as revert some unintentional changes that were made to the service when Episode 3 went live.

We are also planning to disable the Bounty System with this patch across all our servers.
We have already applied a fix to the servers that adjusted the siege times back to 21:00 (GMT+1), however the Siege Commander in-game states a different time. Please be aware that this is a change we can not test because of its time sensitive nature, Game Masters will be on hand at 21:00 (GMT+1) and will broadcast if the siege does not start.
