Luna Online PH awards iPhone 3GS to gamers at Otaku Expo 2010
How would you like it if you win a phone just by playing a game? Pretty awesome, right?
Run Up Philippines, the publisher of the eye-candy 3D MMORPG Luna Online, has awarded two lucky players at the recently held Otaky Expo 2010 last January 23 in SM Megamall Trade Hall 2.
Level 61 Michael Yokio, a.k.a RomnickSarmienta, and level 62 Joselito Jacinto, aka yumicho, both won themselves a brand 16-gig iPhone 3GS each just by playing Luna Online. The mechanics of the promo "Play Luna Online and win an iPhone" were plain simple: just play the game and you will be eligible for the electronic raffle draw.
Luna Online is a fast-paced, free-to-play, online game published by multinational company Run Up Philippines and developed by EYA Interactive. It was launched last August 2009 and has catered to players who are fond of dressing up their characters with cute costumes, who likes socializing via its dating system and likes tough but fun challenges with its dungeons, quests and even having the responsibilities of owning a Farm in-game.
Fun, fun, and more fun
The community of the game had shown its very warm support by attending the latest ground activity of Luna Online as partner of Otaku Expo 2010, which is a two-day fun-filled event for anime-lovers, cosplayers, hobbyists and gamers organized by the people behind Ozine Fest, Anicon and Otaku Taikii. Run Up Philippines' booth became a favorite among cosplayers to have their pictures taken because of the props like trees, lamps and grasses that were part of the Luna Online world. Gamers also flocked to the Otaku Maid Cafe that sold food seen on anime like sushi, crepes, parfaits and croquettes. With Run Up Philippines as an active participant of this event, a special Luna Online-inspired dessert buffet was served and yielded the customer free in-game items.
Among the special online events that the players enjoyed were the Crafting Challenge and the Guild Relay. In Crafting Challenge, you just upgrade your weapon and get the equivalent level 70 standard weapon of choice with the same Enchant Grade [+] of the weapon that you were able to make, while Guild Relay was a fun race to see which team had finished going from one point to another while changing character costumes. The special Run Up & Ozine Luna Starter Package was also introduced where the player will have the very helpful Badge of Lunacy that gives +5 on all stats and an Otaku Kikay Kit for a surprise headgear. Even purchasing Runs Card and topping up your account at the event will automatically grant the player rewards like the Lucky Hunter Scroll, a [+5] Stats to any weapon or even a permanent rare Demented or Heavenly Wings of Melee item.
Gamers also gamely posed to have their pictures taken with the lovely Luna Online models, who have wonderfully stood out amongst the throng of anime and game cosplayers, and had a chance to interact with their favorite GMs who have attended and monitored the activities like GM Seto and GM Summer.
The event would not have been possible without the support of Run Up's partners who lent their products and gamely had players see and test if those fit their gaming needs: Chimei for LCDs, EDIMAX for routers, laptops from Redfox and PLDT myDSL's Internet connection.
New games
Also announced during the event was Run Up Philippines plans to expand its gaming market by introducing the next two games that will be released this year: the casual, 3D fighting game X Machine Online and the martial art-heavy MMORPG Enigma Online. Who said you can't be cute when dealing with monsters?
Luna Online is the newest highly social MMORPG released in the country, published by Run Up Interactive Corp. and developed by EYA Interactive. With its eye-candy 3D graphics, cute customizable characters and fresh features, Luna Online is an appetizing entree to the multitude of online games available in the country today.
The Basic Rule : Thou shalt not be a stranger
The first rule in Luna Online is socializing. Aside from trademark hack and slash gaming present in usual online games, Luna Online spices up the gameplay time of people by incorporating systems and features that allows players to fully immerse in its world.
The Dating System allows players to find a partner to conquer instances or dungeons that require a couple. The Match Making System, on the other hand, provides players an effective way of finding a party for quests that require companions. Once players finally find the perfect companions, the party could easily be upgraded into a Family that will let players own a farm. The Farming System serves as another form of money-making system ingame by letting players plant crops that you can harvest and sell, own pets, and even grow rare items. Another refreshing alternative to grinding is the fishing system. Survey different areas of Blueland and fish out rare materials that could be used in crafting for armor and weapon upgrades. With over 40 jobs to specialize in and the cutest and coolest costumes abound, Luna Online is something that players will grow fond of.
