Tales of Pirates: Bitter Battles Brew in the New Battlefield Server
The gates came crashing down on the new Tales of Pirates (http://top.igg.com) Battlefield Server at 3:00 am EST (GMT-5) January 27th, 2010. Now, pirates from across many different servers will be able to challenge each other face to face on the battlefields of ToP!
When proud warriors get grouped together into one server, it can cause rivalries and outright hostilities, when you have several servers grouped together, the battles are spectacular! This new server is meant to take those combustible elements and mix them together to create one potent brew. Like all potent brews, moderation is encouraged; this one is limited to designated times and and for short periods. However, moderation hasn't watered down the action in this server, as each battlefield championship is divided into 3 sections that include the Chaos Argent Fights, Dungeon Wars and Guild Wars.
Starting with the appropriately named Chaos Argent Fights, two factions, each representing the players from a specific server, will have at it for control of Argent City Pool and the 2 credits that go along with victory. It can be chaotic as players fight to the death for glory and honor, but would they have it any other way?
The Dungeon War is actually the only one that deserves a better name. 'Dungeon' doesn't even begin to describe the hellish nightmare players face down in the depths of the Demonic World instance. Magma spews, and shadows play as the two opposing factions again cross blades, but this time, they face off with a mammoth Black Dragon roaming the battlefield picking off the stragglers. With each side trying desperately to either save the 3 designated buildings, or destroy them, while also trying to avoid the hungry jaws of a dragon, its not long before these pirates are longing for the ease of dealing with a hurricane on the high seas. Whoever has the fortitude to come out on top picks up 3 credits for their server, and something better than a T-shirt reading "I survived the Demonic World".
The most popular, and the one with the most friendly and inviting name would have to be Guild Wars. Sign up and registration are relatively straightforward, and are handled by one of ToP's capable GMs. Opposing guilds are created, and are made up of the usual team of players representing different servers, then...this is where all hell breaks loose. After registration is complete and players have been put into teams, the GM leaves and players are free to go at it, with no rules or limitations imposed. Needless to say, its been the most popular among the 3 sections.
After all the sections have been completed, the winning server is announced and the players from that server are awarded their prizes, including a specially designed apparel set unique to this event ?the Night Deity Robe. Although this and other prizes can be quite lucrative, it seems that the most valuable commodity changing hands after this event is bragging rights.

Tales of Pirates: Spend Your Holiday in Christmas Village
Christmas is quickly approaching, and so is Santa with his load of gifts. To give their players an extra reason to celebrate, IGG's Tales of Pirates Team has rolled out many surprising gifts so everyone can share in the fun this season.
Christmas Village is one of the game's featured instances. Specially designed for this time of year, it closes soon after the Christmas holiday. This year, it will again be filled with a festive atmosphere, featuring a huge Christmas tree, kindly Santa, cute Reindeer and much more. In Christmas Village players can have a merry time with events like the Reverse X'mas Village event, Big Sales, Surprising Stocking, Boss Slaying and others.
The Christmas Village will be open from December 25 to December 30. You will find the gate to Christmas Village next to a grand Christmas tree. During the event, players will receive 5X EXP for doing quests or fighting monsters. Defeat the Turkey, Reindeer, Evil Santa, or X'mas Snowman to obtain a Christmas Stocking. Open the Christmas Stocking to find an awesome Christmas apparel set or Fireworks, or even random gifts from Santa. The NPCs in Christmas Village are also very busy selling Christmas gifts. You can go have a look at all the great deals and choose a favorite gift for yourself!
When it comes to Boss Slaying, you can have a glorious battle with such Bosses as the Death Knight, Huge Mud Monster, Snowman Warlord and Soul of Goddess. Defeat them to win a Christmas Gift Box. Open the box for a chance to win a surprising gift, the Gem of Soul.

Tales of Pirates: Grand Line Region Makes Its Stunning Debut
IGG's ToP Team will be launching another totally new and HUGE region for all players called Grand Line. This new server is scheduled to officially launch on November 18th at 4 PM EST (GMT-5). Grand Line is not a typical ToP server. It will run a special operation mode balanced to serve so many new players, whether first-time pirates or seasoned veterans of other servers. Grand Line offers a new beginning where players can set sail with friends both new and old as they seek adventure.
Instead of individual heroism and personal glory, the new region will instead focus on teamwork. In PvP, superior gear will give way to superior tactics and skill. The region's Item Mall will not include some extreme and high-class equipment, but rather showcase items like the newbie package, daily consumption items and decorative merchandise. Vets will not be allowed to move their superior equipment and items to the new region, so players who don't spend freely in the mall will have a safer place to play where they can fully explore and enjoy the ToP world.
To celebrate the debut of this new region as well as the upcoming Thanksgiving Day holiday in the US, ToP officials will be offering many fantastic rewards and exciting activities, including the Leveling Contest, Multiple EXP Carnival, Sand Bag Critter's Party and much more. Make sure you stop by, whether this is your first time setting sail under the Jolly Roger, or you're a grizzled brigand, and enjoy everything the new server has to offer.

Tales of Pirates: New Angela Junior Pet Arriving Soon
Tales of Pirates team is celebrating the completion of version 2.0 and improvements to the pet system by releasing the powerful Angela Junior. Here’s a quick rundown of what players can expect from this fairy pet.
The Angela Junior is quite different from the original Angela, both in appearance and abilities. Visually, the pet exudes a modern sensibility, special brilliance, an all-white body and other characteristic features. The new pet also comes in two shapes, small and large. Whether players enjoy small, cute pets or large, strong ones, the Angela Junior caters to many different tastes.
Underestimating the abilities of such fairies based on their appearance can be a lethal mistake. Their powers are rumored to exceed even the formidable Mordo Junior pet. Angela Junior Possession gives the pet’s master additional bonuses, including a Physical Resist increase, extra EXP bonus, an attribute bonus and much more. When defeating monsters, a player using an Angela Junior will receive 2.5 times the normal EXP. With an attribute bonus of 1.2 times the level, which is more than that of a Mordo Junior, a Level 50 Angela Junior Possession grants 60 bonus attribute points.
