“World of Kung Fu” Martial Arts Online Game Gets Major Upgrade
The Free-to-Play Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) from VestGame Entertainment is getting a major upgrade that includes new quests, skills, mounts, and several new systems that dramatically enhance gameplay.
[Shanghai, China, November 4th, 2008] VestGame Entertainment has announced a major upgrade to World of Kung Fu, the popular 3D MMO set in ancient China. The latest upgrade will see the addition of several major new systems, as well as new quests for higher level players, new mounts, and skill enhancements for all weapon classes.
The most significant new system in this upgrade is the Invasion System. Players will now be able to battle foreign enemies in one of two new event based scenarios. The first involves an invasion by hostile forces from outside the Middle Kingdom, and the other involves country-to-country battles that take place within. Both scenarios allow players the chance to gain reputation and other benefits such as game gold and items from the item mall.
Another system making its debut is the Transform System. This allows players to collect “transform cards” which enable them to transform into marvelous creatures and exciting special characters, such as the Monkey King. Players who undergo transformation get special new attacks and abilities while in the transformed state.
New mounts available to players include the Zhu Que (Giant Phoenix) and the ferocious fire lion known as Nian. Additional quests have been developed for levels 40-80 to enhance the enjoyment of more experienced players. Also, the weapons skills of all weapon classes have been improved and balanced. Nunchakus have been added to provide players with a quick attribute bonus.
A great many other, less visible gameplay elements have been tweaked and enhanced such as the item drop rate for slain monsters and changes to the tutor/apprentice system. The impetus for these changes was, as always, the World of Kung Fu team’s desire to provide the best possible gameplay experience for the large and growing worldwide community of World of Kung Fu players.
World of Kung Fu is an MMORPG based in a 3D virtual world for the PC. Rooted in traditional Chinese culture, the game takes place in a mythical land founded on the ancient Kung Fu moral values of justice and heroism. World of Kung Fu Kicks-Off Global Screenshot Competition
VestGame Entertainment and Zownder.com are announcing the details of the first screenshot competition for VestGame's popular free massively multiplayer online game, World of Kung Fu.
[Shanghai, Sep 13th, 2008] – VestGame Entertainment and Zownder.com are teaming up to bring World of Kung Fu's first ever screenshot competition to players all over the world. This contest will give players the opportunity to show their favorite aspects of the game, from fighting to flying and everything in between, and allow gamers that have not yet experienced the World of Kung Fu a chance to see what they are missing.
For gamers that have not seen the excitement that is the World of Kung Fu, they are truly missing out. This free-to-play 3D MMO/MMORPG game offers something for all types of gamers, from social gamers to avid, hard-core gamers and all stages in between. “This contest really gives us the chance to showcase the awesome graphics and spectacular artwork that forms such an integral part of the game”, says David Clarke, World of Kung Fu’s North American Producer. The character art was created by renowned Japanese designer Senri Kita, best known for her work on Samurai Shodown, as well as other games from SNK and Capcom.
World of Kung Fu is a virtual world set in ancient China. It successfully combines outstanding gameplay with a storyline that takes players on a journey through a mystical land full of spirits and spiders, robbers and riches, and some of the most breathtaking artwork that players will ever see in a free to play online game.
VestGame Entertainment is pairing up with Zownder.com, a site dedicated to MMO gaming, to produce this contest. Both companies are offering up some great prizes to the winners, and there will be 4 prizes in all. All winners will receive the new World of Kung Fu Leveling Guide. The Grand Prize includes a permanent Xuan Wu mount and over a hundred rare items such as high level Forging Vouchers, Advanced Craftsman Charms, Sky Pearls, and much more. The First, Second, and Third Prizes also contain a wealth of rare and high level items. World of Kung Fu Extends Popular “Summer of Love” Event Until September 7th
Popular “Summer of Love” in-game marriage event will be extended to September 7th, with winners and prizes to be awarded on September 14th.
[Shanghai, Sep 4th, 2008] –World of Kung Fu, the free-to-play 3D martial arts MMORPG from VestGame Entertainment, is extending its popular “Summer of Love” in-game event due to player demand. This event allows groups of players get married amid a plethora fantastic decorations, balloons, flower bouquets, fireworks, and other mall items given out for free by the generous GMs. Wedding pictures of the new couples will be posted on the World of Kung Fu Website, with winners to be chosen by the community of World of Kung Fu Players.
One Grand Prize will be awarded on each server to the couple with the best photo. In addition to having their picture up on the World of Kung Fu website, the winning couple will receive 2 Xian Wu mounts and 2 Wish Rings. All entrants will receive a prize for their participation, such as the legendary Sky Pearl, a rare item useful for refining equipment.
Marriages in World of Kung Fu are performed by the GMs after players get their marriage license from the Matchmaker NPC located in the cities of Liuhe, and Bizhou. In addition to a lifetime of marital bliss, married couples also get a 20% experience bonus (upgradable to 50%) on actions performed together. In future upgrades to the game, there will actually be a child rearing system that will allow children to inherit attributes from their parents! VestGame Entertainment Launches “World of Kung Fu” for the English Speaking World
World of Kung Fu, the Free-to-Play 3D martial arts Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMORPG), is officially released. Based on the arts and mythology of ancient China, World of Kung Fu lets players explore a gigantic and beautifully realized virtual world.
(Shanghai, China, August 1, 2008) – “World of Kung Fu” (WoKF), the martial arts online game from VestGame Entertainment has emerged from a successful open beta testing period and is now officially launched. A second server has been added to accommodate the new influx of players. The released version contains a multitude of new maps, quests, and enhancements to gameplay.
“The launch of World of Kung Fu into Western markets represents the culmination of many months of strenuous effort, and is a real milestone for VestGame. It’s great to see so many new players enjoying the fruits of our labor”, said Jonathan Seidenfeld, VestGame’s Director of Business Development. The game has been averaging 700 to 1000 new registrations every day over the past several months.
WoKF allows players to master their own style of Kung Fu, then take part in the creation of a “Wulin”, or classic Kung Fu society. As players perfect their skills, they can establish their own schools, and pass their knowledge along to others. Along the way they will undergo numerous tests and encounter ferocious enemies as they strive to become Kung Fu legends.
The astonishing 3D graphics in the game are inspired by the natural landscapes portrayed in traditional Chinese painting. The character art was drawn by the famous Japanese designer Senri Kita, best known for her work on Samurai Shodown, as well as other titles from SNK and Capcom. The awesome artwork and exceptional gameplay come together in a huge 3D virtual world for players to explore and ultimately, to master. The game allows player versus player combat as well as player versus environment. There are systems that allow full scale battles between different Kung Fu schools, and even between citizens of different countries.
